UNDAF Steering Committee reviews the progress of UNDAF implementation in Bangladesh11 Jun 2018
On June 11, 2018, the UNDAF Steering Committee met to discuss the past year’s progress and 2018 Joint Annual Workplans, that operationalizes the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) 2017-2020. The discussion was framed under UN’s Collaborative Framework on progressing the 2030 Agenda and SDG implementation.
Signed in year 2016, the 2017-2020 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) provides strategic guidance for enhancing coherence of the UN System’s response to assist the Government of Bangladesh in achieving its national priorities as articulated in the 7th Five Year Plan, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The UNDAF Steering Committee (SC) is the highest oversight and decision-making body that provides strategic direction on UNDAF implementation in Bangladesh. The Steering Committee was recently reconstituted to include 17 members of the UN Country Team, led by the UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh and from the Government side the Economic Relations Division, General Economics Division, and 19 line Ministries that are implementing partners to the UN agencies. The UNDAF SC is co-chaired by the Secretary, Economic Relations Division and the UN Resident Coordinator.
