A SPECIAL CULTURAL EVENT AT THE MAY MEETING

This year is declared as a children's rights year, "Say Yes to Children."   Children from the Shishu Bikash Kendra performed during a musical program to celebrate Pahela Baishak at the Sonargaon Hotel. Shishu Bikash Kendra is an organization run by ZONTA-3 club for underprivileged children, providing the children with free education up to class IX. UNWA thanks Ms. Jesmine Chowdhury, the children and the teachers for a meaningful programme and our Bangladeshi members for the delicious food. Everyone enjoyed the show, the children’s heartwarming performance, and admired the work of the organization.

A special evening to get to know each other. Please bring your favourite dish (enough for two or four), label it or put a flag on it, and if it’s not a secret recipe, write it down for our Cookbook! Call Patsy at 882 9426 for details and let her know if you’re coming and what you’re bringing (starter, main dish or dessert?). All UNWA members & their spouses are invited (due to space limitations, no guests please). National dress most welcome! See you there!
