16 June Sat. International Ladies Lunch put on by the Women’s Voluntary Assoc. (WVA) to aid their health and education projects. Programme includes competition Bridge, Mahjong and Rummy at 10:30 am; Mini Bazaar and Raffle draw; lunch at 1 p.m.  Participants in games must confirm by 10 June with Zakia Doha and come with their own foursome. 21 June Thurs.  7-10pm  Worldwide Voluntary Blackout. As an alternative to George W. Bush's energy policies and lack of emphasis on efficiency, conservation and alternative fuels, there will be a voluntary rolling blackout on the first day of summer, June 21, 7-10pm in all time zones (this will roll it across the planet). A simple protest, and a symbolic act: turn off your lights from 7-10pm on June 21.Unplug whatever you can in your house, use candles and try to do   without electricity for a few hours.
