June General Meeting
As UNWA members of 2001 may recall, Ms. Lan was interviewed by WOMUN in March 2002. Growing up on a farm in Vietnam for seven years during the war, Ms. Lan learned from early on that women can do anything, can survive with very little, and that farming as a way of life is not only important for the family but for the nation as well. She said in her interview: "…I think I am lucky to be chosen for Bangladesh, to see so many development issues and challenges and still feel capable of helping; and to be part of an organization that gives me the opportunity to intermingle with different peoples and cultures." Ms. Lan will speak about her life experiences in Vietnam and her work in Bangladesh. Please contact Hitomi if you are attending the General Meeting so that she can prepare the right amount of snacks and drinks. |
