Summer plans for UNWA members… Many Dhaka expats take long leave during the summer, and people scatter far and wide for holidays and family visits. We asked some UNWA members about their plans for the summer… Tazeen Rehman, reports that: " My family will be going to Canada and US during the summer, as my parents and siblings live there. Also my daughter will be joining the University of Toronto. Now I have to get used to being without both my children. I will be back in Dhaka by the end of the first week of September." Liti Lissner reports that, "Our older son Allan is graduating with a BA from the University of Toronto in June, after which he is joining us in Denmark for 3 weeks before going back to Canada for further studies. The Lissners: Jørgen, Liti and Henrik, plan to be in Hørsholm, Denmark for five weeks enjoying cooler temperatures, and feeding the ducks and swans in the little pond in front of our house." During the holidays, Liti can be reached at: liti2@get2net.dk Hitomi says that she will "..first go to Paris (with the kids) in early July. We’ll spend a week there to visit museums, amusement parks, book stores, McDonald’s (all this for the kids) and stores (this one is for me). Then we go to our house in Bretagne. Yannick will join us there for the beach and the food! Naoko will be going off to Japan for about two weeks in July-August, and hopes for more leave a bit later. And Nancy will be traveling for work – to Geneva, Sri Lanka and Pakistan (security situation allowing) in June, and then to the International AIDS conference in Barcelona in July. |
