Children’s Art Competition Prize Winners

A Slogan Poster Competition was organized by UNWA as part of the United Nations Day celebration. One hundred ninety one children from grade 3 to 5 participated from the American School Dhaka, Dreyfus House, Grace International School Dhaka and the International School Dhaka.

The theme was "Preservation of the Environment", a very relevant topic not only in Bangladesh but also around the world. Nowadays, children are very conscious of their surroundings. The question asked was "What can you do to preserve the environment?" Their awareness is captured by their feelings and concerns in the following winning slogans:

  • "Keep Your City Clean Or You’ll Feel Mean" by Maxwell LaBonte Jackson from American School Dhaka

  • "Keep Our Planet Green, Keep Our Planet Clean" by Emily Coates from Dreyfus House

  • "Stop Pollution" by Tseng Tzu Ting from Grace International School Dhaka

  • "Can The Trees Grow With Me?" by Samanza from International School Dhaka

Kuhu, from Kuhu Gallery and Mr. Yannick Glemarec, Deputy Representative of UNDP Dhaka were asked to judge the competition. One winner was selected from each school. These winning entries are on the cover of the UN Ball 2002 Brochure.
