Welfare Activities in May On the Welfare Committee’s recommendation, the Board approved assistance for two projects - the Green Herald afternoon school for underprivileged children and the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed. The Welfare Committee has met twice since the Annual General Meeting in March. The committee will visit four projects shortly and make its recommendations to the Board. After the June Board meeting, the committee will not meet until late August because of the summer holidays, when most members will be away. Two emergency grants were made this month from the Little Miracle Fund. In one case, the grant was for the cost of a heart operation for a 20-year old girl. In the other case, a 60-year old lady from the Telegu community was helped to have an urgently needed thighbone operation. |
