Getting Started on World Health Day

 

Get yourself and your family started on a healthy lifestyle by doing 30 minutes of a moderate-level activity everyday: brisk walking, bicycling, gardening, etc. You can even divide the 30 minutes into shorter periods of at least 10 minutes each. For instance:

  • Use stairs instead of an elevator

  • Meet friends at a park (instead of for tea); walk & talk

  • Do the vacuuming

  • Listen to your teenage children’s music and ask them to teach you their latest dance steps

  • Make your children chase you around the house for their allowance.

  •  

     

    Most people don’t need to see a doctor before starting a moderate-level activity, unless you have other health problems.
