Pictures from our
very enjoyable trip downtown with Imrana Shahidullah and Farhana Ibrahim
whose families descended from the original inhabitants of the Pink Palace.
We marvelled at several rooms that still held a lot of the original
furniture, fine porcelain, crystal, and a huge pool table; and regretted
that the palace was falling apart and maintenance was apparently lacking.
The participants
were Farhana Ibrahim, Imrana Shahidullah, Liti Lissner, Nancy Hughart,
Rinda Maramis, Renu Paryani, Vassana Barclay, and Wati Kamayana. We had fun
driving through town, pointing out sites and shops we would like to visit in
the future, walking around the Palace and palace gardens, and getting to
know each other. Our next tour may well be a visit to the Rose Garden.
